SMS Consent & Opt-In Disclosure

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This page describes how CALEON AI collects verbal SMS opt-in consent from end-users (callers) via its AI voice receptionist, including the exact script used and the types of messages sent.

1. How Consent Is Collected

CALEON AI is an AI-powered phone receptionist. End-users call a business phone number and speak directly with the AI. SMS messages are only sent after the caller provides explicit verbal opt-in consent during the live phone call. No SMS messages are ever sent without prior verbal consent.

Consent is collected at a single, specific point in the call: after the caller's phone number has been collected and before any SMS is sent. The AI asks once per call and does not repeat the request.

2. Verbal Opt-In Script (Exact Transcript)

The AI receptionist uses the following script to request consent. Multiple natural-language variations of the same disclosure are used to keep conversations from sounding scripted. All variations contain the same required disclosures. Examples:

Variation A

AI: “I can send you a text confirmation from CALEON AI with your appointment details and any updates. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Our terms and privacy policy are at caleonai.com. Would you like to receive texts from CALEON AI — yes or no?”

Caller: “Yes please.”

AI: “Great! CALEON AI will send you a text to confirm your enrollment shortly. Remember, reply STOP anytime to opt out.”

Variation B

AI: “As part of CALEON AI's service I can send you automated text updates — things like your appointment confirmation and meeting links. Message and data rates may apply depending on your plan. Reply HELP anytime for help, or STOP to opt out completely. Terms and privacy info are at caleonai.com. Would you like that from CALEON AI — yes or no?”

Caller: “Yes.”

AI: “Great! CALEON AI will send you a text to confirm your enrollment shortly. Remember, reply STOP anytime to opt out.”

Variation C

AI: “I can text you your confirmation and any updates from CALEON AI. Standard message and data rates may apply. At any time reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. You can find CALEON AI's terms and privacy policy at caleonai.com. Would you like to opt in — yes or no?”

Caller: “No thanks.”

AI: “No problem at all! CALEON AI will skip the text. No worries.”

Every variation explicitly discloses:

3. Caller Response & Confirmation

If the caller says YES:

The AI confirms:

“Great! CALEON AI will send you a text to confirm your enrollment shortly. Remember, reply STOP anytime to opt out.”

An SMS is then sent to the caller containing the relevant confirmation details (see Section 4).

If the caller says NO:

The AI responds:

“No problem at all! CALEON AI will skip the text. No worries.”

No SMS is sent. The opt-in question is not repeated at any point during the call.

4. Message Types Sent After Opt-In

After a caller opts in, they may receive transactional messages only. No marketing or promotional messages are sent. Message types include:

Sample Messages

Enrollment confirmation:
“CALEON AI: You're now signed up for text updates. Reply STOP anytime to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Msg & data rates may apply.”

Appointment confirmation:
“CALEON AI: Your appointment is confirmed for [Date] at [Time]. Add to Google Calendar: [link]. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”

Support ticket confirmation:
“CALEON AI: Your support request has been received. Reference #[TICKET-ID]. Our team will follow up within [X] business days. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”

All messages include a reminder that the caller can reply STOP to opt out andHELP for assistance.

5. Message Frequency

Message frequency depends on the caller's interactions with the business. Typically, callers receive one message per interaction (one per appointment booked, one per complaint filed). No recurring or scheduled bulk messages are sent.

6. Opt-Out & Help Instructions

7. Data Privacy

SMS opt-in consent and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes are not shared with or sold to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. They are used solely to deliver the transactional messages described above. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
